Default Problem with recording music.

I have started to record music again and there is a problem. I use Audacity on Win XP and I try to record one guitar track then record another guitar track over it. Everytime I try this it also records the first track as well, so it messes everything up. I have tried using headphones because I thought the mic was picking it up, I even unplugged the mic and just hit record, it still picks up the first track! I think it is recording everything coming through the sound card. I have looked all over the program's preferences and went on the program's forums, Nothing. Any ideas/help? Thanks in advance.

Hi idigfoo, this program seems to be a fairly specialist type of program.
Unless one of the other techs has a suggestion for you, I'd suggest trying to find a Audacity expert.
