Default No sound!

My computer will not make any sound at all, be it from a CD, music file or program.

I have tested my speakers on another system and they work fine.

I have tried another pair of speakers on my system and they would not produce any sound either. I then tried connecting headphones...and again no sound.

Am i correct in saying this has something to do with my motherboard. (asus A8N sli)

My system is home built, if list of components is neede just ask and ill try and remember.

Many thanks LJ

Welcome to PCHF LJuk, A few things to check is the volume turned up on the PC. If you check in the device manager is the sound card installed properly. You can download the drivers for the sound card here ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- you will need to select your motherboard from the list and download the sound card driver.
