Hi guys new to this forum but not new to the wonderful world of home computing.
Anyways i found the same problems on a customers computer (run my own support company) and i found if you went to the SiS (chipset manufacturer, printed on southbridge chip down by front panel connectors) website, they have a handy auto detect webpage which does just that and supplies you with the latest drivers (vga, sound, ide) for this particular chipset.
Obviously try to get the manufacturers ones first always, but this board is confusing as its got winfast printed all over it but its actually a foxxconn
mobo. The fix i did repaired the customers pc and they phoned me back up to tell me how delighted they were at the speed of their pc, with me smiling saying yes and writing my cash-in reciept for the bank.
further update though, they foned me up after a week of 'fast pc' to say that it wont start now

, so after testing out their bits on another
mobo i find their motherboard is dead and gone, ah well. im presuming its the onboard video as it gets no beeps but powers up and tested that by using agp
gfx with still no success. only other times ive seen a pc go like that is onboard
gfx giving up.
