Hi elle,

If the device was there, it would have come up with a wizard, which means, either the sound device is no longer working, or is not enabled.

Make sure it is enabled by going into BIOS (normally F1, F2 or [DEL]) during startup. Look for your Audio AC97 Device there, and make sure it is enabled.

Otherwise, my only other suggestion would be to replace the sound card. These are dead cheap to buy these days at only £5.99 (BigPockets.co.uk: CMI 18738 PCI Sound Card, 5.1 channel (Retail) £5.99 - Blank Media - Gadgets - Ink Cartridges - Free Delivery).

Yep, you should disable it again if you use a new sound card, to prevent any conflicts or at least any confusion on which soundcard Windows is trying to play through.

What VGA card do you have?

onboard vga card me thinks? no cards in machine slots, under hardware settings the dreaded yellow question mark by raid and vga controller. will adding a graphics card do away with this?

If it aint broke, don't fix it elle, as it seems that your already have a graphics card properly installed looking at your benchmark test shows a "SiS 330 Mirage Integrated", which you should see in Device Manager, under "Display Adaptors"? Does your screen look normal to you?

Very few people actually use RAID, and just disable it in their BIOS. RAID is only used if you wish to buy an additional HDD which will act as a mirror image of your current one in case it fails, or if you want one drive spanned across mutliple HDD's. Very few people do, and just add a second disk.

I tend to just disable anything I don't need in Device Manager. Right click on the item, go to Properties, and disable under "Device Usage".

For everything else, I believe I have found the central site for your motherboard drivers here: FOXCONN Channel Service _ Downloads
