Will need more info walter.. AC97 just means its AC3. Dolbly digital etc..

Download belarc and post back what it comes up with in your next post..

are you missing alot of drivers? I see your ATI driver is missing as well.
Did your pc come with a disc that have drivers on it?

Sorry about that, I have reinstalled windows 98 but needed to deleted window ME before. I had to format the disc so as to get win98 to install as it would not install until I formated it. Yes I am missing both the graphes and the sound drivers. I have a rescue floppy disc but I have tried that but with no succes. I is an old computer Pakerd Bell don't not the model as there is not markings on it. Not sure what you mean about the AC97

just saying that the AC97 is not a model. Use the belarc advisor in the link and post the results back here.. So I can see what kind of soundcard you have

ok that does not seem to tell me either what type of audio card you have either.. Go to Hp's site and download the auto detect program they have.. the link is below,
