onboard doesn't support EAX, onboard takes processing power away from the CPU and the rest of the computer (moreso then a pci sound card) and you also hear fan humming through some cheap and nasty speakers

gaming isn't a hobby..it's a way of life!

I agree it can be horrible but it depends if you use your sound a lot.

I heard somewhere before that its not really worth buying a sound card and better sticking with onboard.

Default well...

ok you may think integrated is nice or even bearable..
but ive yet to use the board whos integrated whos nice enough to make me enjoy the music coming from anything.
i listen to music like rock to jazz alllot, i play games using eax alllot, do audio editing on acid pro alllot and i do video editing and make a podcast alllot..
im the kinda guy who gets anoyed when something says its cd quality and its 112 k/s instead of 128 k/s or even 124 k/s and not 128 or higher.
i encode all my cds onto my coputer at 192 k/s to 256 k/s usually so i expect nothing short of fantastic sounding music..
integrated will only cut it on this laptop when im using the laptops build in speakers..otherwise, noo way.
