Default [Resolved] - Mic stopped working

Hi guys,

I've been using a headset (Trust 2200) for the past 4 months instead of speakers, and had no problems with it. The headphones and mic both worked fine. Now, i've not used the mic for a few weeks and tried using it tonight - but it's not working. I'm still hearing sound perfectly, but the mic has packed in. I've been through all of my sound settings and nothing is muted, the drivers are up to date. Tried the MSN audio wizard, soundmax audio wizard - nothing. I've spent the last hour trying to figure this out, but no joy.

Any suggestions?!

A development.

In my Soundmax control panel, the mic is muted. If I unmute it, I get a warning telling me "needs to be muted". If I leave it unmuted, it will automatically mute it again - and also mute the mic in volume control.

hello there ...

please try to get a mic from a friend or what ever and check if it's working with the settings you have ...

if it's working then your mic the damaged if it's not make sure that you are not muting your mic via Volume control ...

Should've mentioned - I was getting static when inserting the pin, so knew there was life there. However, after a quadruple uninstall/reinstall, combination of every setting know to man, beating my case to a pulp - it now works.
