Default [Resolved] Some sounds fine, some muted.

Well, my sound was fine up until this morning. I opened the RealTek HD Audio manager and played around, upon closing it, some sounds are muted.

For example, when I start Windows, the chime that plays sounds fine. But the "click" sound when you close a window is very low.

In the game Oblivion, the music plays fine and some of the sound effects play fine. But some don't, When I pick a lock or equip something in my inventory, the sound very low and muted.

Is this far out or what?

Maybe I should remove sound drivers?

Hi,

I think it would be a good idea, as you have suggested, to start with a removal and re-install of the correct soundcard drivers. What soundcard do you have? (make/model no.)

Yay, the Gateway tech guy wrote me back and I followed his simple instructions to reinstall drivers. And yes, as well all suspected, it was driver corruption that was the culprit all along. What a fool I was for even posting this thread!

Problem solved.

Hi there Mj4ya9715.

Have you already tried reinstalling the driver?
