Default [Resolved] freaky problem

hello to all. im pretty new to this computing lark, but i find myself with an odd problem. any sound i play on my pc is speeded up. but only very slightly but enough to annoy, music sounds weird and slightly chipmunk like in the vocals. it was ok and this as only occured in the last 12 hours. anyone have any ideas what might be causing this? any help would be greatly apprciated :smiley:

Welcome to PCHF. Yours is a new one, chipmunk music no less. LOL

Let's start by ruling out malware as a possibility, please follow the instructions in the link in my signature, Prework.

Make sure that you save the ewido log, and that you install HijackThis to its own folder and do not run it from your desktop or a temp folder.

Hi Jester7s!

Welcome to PCHF !!!

Does this happen in every music player and in movies? Or is it only in certain programs?

Some programs also have an option to force files to play within a certain time frame, this can sometimes affect the pitch though most programs can mae the adjustment without doing so.

thanks for the help guys, finally discovered that it was the sound driver needed re installing. what a palava!! but there you go. if you have that problem try re-installing your sound driver, worked for me!
