Default [RESOLVED] Onboard Realtek

Hi, I have onboard 8CH SOUND CARD from realtek, the alc880. My question is, when i plug my headphones into it and play music through them, the sound has no base aty all, and its really high. I obviously use the windows media sound control and the windows audio bar to control the loudness of the head phnes, but is this normal. It doesnt do this on my laptop, Thanks granto

Hey there granto - did you have any special software that came with the PC/Sound card, like something that would include a graphic equalizer? Also, are you talking about music played through a certain player or all sound has no bass ?

The quality of your sound really depends on the quality of your soundcard. Most onboard sound cards have average sound, but I have no experience about your specific type, it could be just low quality. Also, you are using headphones. There's a really wide variety in the quality of headphones, so what kind of phones are you using? Although I don't think this is the problem cause I think you're using the same headphones when you're listening to your laptop isn't it?

well, thanks for the replys. I can safely say that its not m,y headphones. Becuase they work fine on my laptop and Have good base and all. I find it hard to beleive that my pc could have such **** sound. Its a brand new motherboard from gigabyte. Its definatly somthing to do with plugging it straignt into the soundcard its self. I think if i plug my speakers into the soundcard, then plug my headphones in the headphonbe slot on the speakers, that will give the headphones the base they should atleast have. Thanks, Granto2000

OK Granto Thanks for your reply too, I hope you'll understand I was just suggesting and I didn't know what kind of stuff you were using. Anyway, glad to see your problem has been resolved. If you got any other question feel free to post it in the forums.
