Default [Fixed] Headset problem.

Hello there!

My friend recently gave me his old headset for our raid parties on World of Warcraft. I think its called Logitech Xtreme Gaming Headset or something along those lines (and since I'm not sure if it is or not heres a description just in case. Its a basic headset with audio plugs and, a bar that goes around the back of your head, a microphone on a bendy stick, and normal sized headphones that have changable color plates on it (colors are purple, red, orange, and black)). I can get it to work over skype and teamspeak and such, but for some reason I can't get the voices to come out of the headphones (The microphone works though). I either have to put the audio plug in my speaker port so I end up getting all sound into the headphones, or have my speaker project all sounds including my team-mates voices. Its like my computer dosen't even know its pluged in, and my friend said it never came with a CD or anything.

To put it in short, I got a free headset with a microphone attachted to it for my World of Warcraft raids and I wan't to get the voices (and only the voices) to come out of the headphones, which they don't, and my computer dosen't see that I have a headset pluged into it. If its any help I'm using Windows XP SP2 and I have an old Sound Blaster Live card in my computer.

Any help would be appreciated.

:-D Hey Killa,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a lot of very talented and knowlegeble people at this site and I am sure we can help you figure this out.

I actually had a similar situation just recently when I switched to a Telex P-500 Digital. In the programs themselves, (in my case TeamSpeak particularly,) I needed to direct the program to the new audio out of my new headset. It automatically changed the mike, but the headset had to be changed manually to that driver from my onboard audio driver.

I am not sure about your World of Warcraft settings, but in TS simply click on settings, Options, Sound Devices tab, Devices, select your new headset from the list under Output Devices. Click on Apply, OK. You should now hear the TS sessions through your headset.

The other programs should have similar settings.

If you can't find them, please let us know.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN
