glad to see you guys are so enthused... im lost hahaha
i at first noticed this problem after i came home from school one day. it just kinda showed up, there wasnt anything gradual from what i could tell.
i ran through tjn's PreWork program... and i have to say thanks for finally introducing me to some decent antispyware. it cleaned some 60 threats from my computer, but unfortunately the problem still exists. the logreports are attached if youd like to look. [yes, there are some questionalbe finds in there. niether have i changed the logs in any way nor am i ashamed. im gonna trust you guys cause i need some help]
according to the device manager, all my drivers are up to date... however, i might try the rollback idea from the_machine
primarily i notice it happening while im playing games [any, not just a slect few] and while im listening to music [WMP] or watching movies [VLCmp or Quicktime]. i did remove all the codecs that i had installed into WMP and nothing changed.
as for the wire fritzing [i dont even know what that is] and power flux ideas... i cant say i know. i did go through and check all my cords to make sure they werent falling out and reconnected them all, nothing changed. im pretty sure i have a sufficient power supply. all my pc components plug into one of those big splitters and that plugs into the surge protector which goes directly to the wall. i havent added anything new to the lineup, and as this problem never happened before, i dont think it has to do with power... but then again i wouldnt know...
as for the system specs:
Dell Dimension 8400
Windows XP Home Edition SP2 [Build 2600]
Pentium 4
CPU 3.60GHz
1GB
RAM
250GB HD
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit
... thats all the basics, but if you need to know more just ask
again, thanks for your help guys... this thing is driving me insane

 :banghead:
