If all else fails when you install your PCI card, contact its manufacturer for more help.
i can't call them it cost me more money
ok do i sound cheap ? i bought all this music to add to my playlist and the external drive to hold it. i bought a new memory card.because i knew what little i had would work with the program, i bought a mic then find out a head set is better ,i bought the software Sam to braodcast. i donated to him so he could get his server up and running. all so i could be a dj now i also need a new sound card. whew ths is costing me more than i thought. and none of it will be returned to me. lol but i want to be a Dj lmao so its worth it i am just trying to cut the expense if i can. blame me. i am not rich lol

so guys help me out here

but back to the problem my pc has a mind of its own? or is it a virus i install it takes them out. no i just do it wrong huh? i tried to update the driver using the method we all use device manager update driver the driver he sent me is not listed. and doing the i will install myself method and telling it to search destop audio folder still don't let me have the option of installing the driver he sent. so i am back to the soundmax intergrated digital audio.

Hey DjSatin,

I'm with you on the concept of spending money that seems to be going nowhere. I know my collegues feel the same. Let's check you out for malware, and see if your problem doesn't stem from that before we take it to the sound card.

So, I need you to do somethings so we can check you out.
You can download HijackThis! here
Before using HijackThis Please Do the Following

Make sure that HijackThis is installed in it's own folder

Show hidden files and folders:

1.On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
2.Click the View tab.
3.Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
4.If you see a warning message, click Yes.
5.Click Apply.
6.Click OK.

Disable System Restore to prevent re-infection
(if you have/use it. You can turn it back on when youre pc is clean).

How to disable system restore:

Click the Start button.
Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
On the System Restore tab, check Turn off System Restore or Turn off System Restore on all drives.

Please download ewido Security Suite
[*]Install ewido security suite [*]When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu." [*]Launch ewido, there should be a big "E" icon on your desktop, double-click it. [*]The program will prompt you to update click the "OK" button [*]The program will now go to the main screen

You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files.
[*]On the left hand side of the main screen click update [*]Click on Start

The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed. After the updates are installed, exit ewido.

Once the updates are installed do the following:
[*]Reboot into Safe Mode, you can do this by restarting your computer, then contiunally tapping F8 until a menu appears. Use your up arrow key to highlight Safe Mode, then hit enter. Then, run ewido.
[*]Close all open windows/programs/folders. Have nothing else open while ewido performs its scan!
[*]Click on scanner [*]Click on Settings[*]Under "How to scan" all boxes should be selected [*]Under "Possibly unwanted software" all boxes should be selected [*]Under "What to scan" select scan every file [*]Click OK[*]Click on Complete system scan [*]Let the program scan the machine
[*]If ewido finds anything, it will pop up a notification. NOTE: Certain known false positives have shown up with this program. If you notice anything you are familiar with, check ignore on the pop up menu. Do not select "perform selections on all options", you should be able to remove most of the warnings that come up.

Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located on the bottom of the screen named Save report.
[*]Click Save report [*]Save the report to your desktop [*]Exit ewido[*]Post the report here, you can copy and paste the ewido log as it does not contain any links.

Download CCleaner from my signature and install it, make sure that all of the options are selected including advanced. Select Yes, when you receive the warnings. Click on Analyze, and let the program run. Once it has finished, select Run Cleaner and allow the program to run. Once it has finished, close CCleaner.

Then run HijackThis choosing the top option to save a log file, save it to your desktop. Attach the HJT log at the bottom of your post. (this is important, as HJT logs contain potentially contageous links.)

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

Right you would use the ADI audio driver that is on the CD.

We will try to get this working without having to purchase another sound card.

It just sounds like there is an incorrect driver loaded which is why you are having these strange sounds problems.

Could you go into control panel and then Add/Remove programs, remove anything in there relating to sound e.g Soundmax / VIA AC'97

Once you have done this could you try and install the ADI audio from your CD.

Have you tried going to the HP Support site and clicking on "Start Detection". This should scan your system and list all available drivers. "IN theory "

Default Re: Sound

Zimbo i was albe to run and install the detection tool but i didn't see any drivers for sound i have been to hp support quite often i am on thier email lsit to alert me of any new drivers for my pc but here is this list i found
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...t=77564&os=228

ironic how even the detection used found me to have model 511n when my pc casing says 521c i guess it is model 511n.

ok i will use hp tools application recovery and choose the ADI audio driver. see if that gives me better sound and can use the mic in Sam broadcasting software. thanks again
