Welcome to PCHF Simon.

Something like this might be what you need? http://www.rmxdirect.co.uk/item?SID=...sku=2010001005 (UK link posted as you're in the UK). Or are you looking for a different type of solution?

Hi Hengis.

Thanks for the swift reply. You guys rock!

I guess i would need a splitter. (mebbe! ?ed: ) I really dont know.

I'm trying to get away from the clutter of HiFi everywhere

I was into top end HiFi BC (Before Children) So would wireless speakers be a reasonable sound quality?

Or do i drill holes in my floor & poke wires trough. ?If so i was thinking of Logitec THX speakers upstairs & downstairs.

Whats would be a recomended sound card for music?

Thanks & regards

Simon

Hi Simon2711

like you i share the passion of sound and what you are tring to do is quite complicated without wires.

What is the purpose of these speakers, are they for games or just music.

Also if you want to play games and DVD a Creative audigi card is the safest bet, but for normal music, a basic 5.1 onboard sound card is good enough, but they do not normally play music in 5.1, just 2.1. This is where DOLBY PRO LOGIC 2 comes in handy. This splits the 2.1 channels in 5.1 using spatial* technology. Creative cards and speakers use a simalar set up on there more expensive external sound cards.

*(when a normal stero source sounds wider than where the speakers are placed).

This is what i a'm planing to do in my house soon.

or alternitavly you could use digi senders, so it is wire less. However using the optical to stereo converter and PRO LOGIC decoder, means that it will still be in surround sound but different sound will be heard out of each speaker compared to upstairs.

For a digi sender, look in the argos catalogue. That is if you are in the UK.
