Default [Answered] Disable sound card

Hi Dudes,

I have bought a new sound card. Audigy. Because my onboard HD 7.1 sound card that came with my new socket 775 Motherboard has **** drivers that slow my system, and there is only 1 set of drivers. So my question is, how do i disable my onboard soundcard and can i do this without having the drivers installed, cause the drivers are the main reason i hate the audio card. I just want to use my new sound card, and entirley block my motherboard sound card, but my bios doesnt have any setting to disable onboard sound. Whats that mean, Im guessing it means im stuck...????? Thanks , Granto :-o

There should be an option in the bios to disable the onboard sound , but you could also uninstall the driver and disable the device in the device manager.

What is the model of youre motherboard?

The setting below azalia codec is for the front panel .

And the visualiser uses both cpu and vga alot. Could be a service like AV using some cpu power that causes the slowdowns.
