my wife has an HP go to the back and look close! At what it says.. Mic in should be center speaker. etc.. she has the same exact onboard card you have

After talking to the HP guy, he told me I needed to change my sound setup from 2 speakers to 5.1, so I went in the settings and did that, now they all act as outputs, which allows me to use all of the speakers.
