Default [Answered] sound issues

basically when i unplug say my speakers and try to plug my headset in, the sound stops working. This is also the case when i unplug the speakers and plug them back in, sound doesn't work anymore. I have to reboot with the desired sound device plugged in to get it to work, and it is getting increasingly frustrating say for gaming when i want to use my headset, but if i want to watch a movie i have to reboot with my speakers in.

I am not using a soundcard, i am using the onboard sound.
My motherboard drivers are all installed correctly that i know of, but just in case:

Motherboard: ASUS P5LD2 Deluxe

Please help me! Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling your sound card?

You can do this by going into Device manager, locate your sound card and "uninstall" it.

You can download the drivers for you sound card from here:
