mom and i went out to best buy to get another new laptop, as the old gateway finally kicked the bucket after 5 years of solid use. (was a good laptop, served us well. RIP Gateway 600YG2) anyway, she wanted a cheap, laptop that could essentially run quicken and play sims2. So we bought an Acer Extensa 5420.

Looks good, congrats. I must say that 5 years is disappointing (at least to me), my laptop is still running strong after 10+ years and runs XP Home like a champ, though I doubt I could do much gaming or such on it, but I don't so it doesn't matter :P

Anyway, Acer makes good stuff, I'm sure you'll be happy with it for a long time
