Well I decided that my FX5200 is a bit weak.So im making a new pc with nicer parts.

Heres what I just got from newegg.

Im going to use a spare harddrive and this pc's Ram.Xp pro for OS. Do i need anything else?
Im going to benchmark when I finish it and Oc it to 2.3 or 2.4

ok im confused. you got the case, power supply. that video card is excellent. what CPU do you want? And if you have an FX5200, i can almost garuntee your RAM will not work with a new motherboard. (you probably have DDR and need DDR2) not to mention you will want DDR2-800 for best performance. Let me know what you are doing and i can find the best stuff.

Well basicly i have DDR2 800 but im just confused about which motherboard.And if their will be any conflicts.And im getting the 9500.I just need help picking out the motherboard.But by the way most of this will be bought in february and so prices will probably have dropped.Early march.But depending on if i can or not i might get a cheap extra 1 gig ddr2 800.But this pc currently has just a Crappy Fx5200 Gfx card.The cpu is ok X2 4200 but i want a system that can last about 2 years.I will have about 425 to spend.But you can pick things over that limit because i might get things cheaper.

so you want to buy a motherboard, graphics card, and motherboard with that? I guess that can be done. also, what kind of memory do you have? (Corsair, OCZ etc)

here. =P the only decent motherboard i could find with decent reviews that indicate no or very few issues was $150. the total comes to $520 =P a bit more than you wanted. There is a much cheaper Gigabyte board, but it has no reviews, so i have no frame of reference and so hesitant to recommend it to you. my experience with gigabyte boards is good, but occasionally you get a bad board. I will post links to both of them . one way or the other though, the total still coems out above $425. that processor and graphics card together just dont keep the cost down.

If you can get it, that AMD 790FX board looks awesome though, and is great from what i have read online. Also, if you want performance better than the Athlon +6000 you need to buy an aftermarked cooler and kick it up to at least 2.5Ghz

Well im expecting the Hd3850's to have dropped about 20 dollars because of the 9000's from nvidia and just time.And the Cpu might to.Thats all i can do is hope lol.Basicly im begging for price drops lol.

the total comes to $370 without shipping. because of the low clock speeds of the AMD Phenom, you will be getting better performance in Real world applications, and gaming with the Athlon X2. Also, that motherboard is great for overclocking, and you should be able to effortlessly take the processor to 3ghz, with no heat problems. not to mention the dreaded TLB Errata with the Phenom

lol. i see where your coming from, but like just about any tech forum you read will say, the performance is not justifying the cost. lol

Well i spent 100 dollars on the Fx5200 last christmas...So is that Msi board looking ok?Their a good company right?
