I almost went w/ the Q6600... the quad core @ 2.40 GHz. Hard call... but the dual core @ 3.0 beat the quad core @ 2.40 in almost every single benchmark.

*note* please see the x2 thing going on. I have two DVD +/- RW drives, two 1 GB sticks of RAM, and two 500 GB hard drives

Id upgarde the RAM to at least 2GB maybe even 3GB, as Vista does need quite a lot.

I have 2 GB (there are a few of the x2 things going on)

two 1 GB sticks of RAM at 800 mhz
two DVD +/- RW drives
two 500 GB hard drives

I know Vista won't use the 4 GB and that is why I didn't go with it (can always upgrade later).

What is using an odd number like 3 GB like?

I duno why I always thought that an odd amount of memory would be a bad thing. I'm sure I'll upgrade the RAM when I find a good deal. I'm in a hurry to get this built because my laptop is currently hooked up to my monitors, keyboard, mouse, and speakers so I am without my laptop.

When I find a good deal on DDR2 RAM I am sure I'll upgrade to 4 GB .

Thanks for all tine input everyone.
