Hi gaz,

I wouldn't say a big difference when running apps, definately noticable. Where you will notice the most difference is when playing games. You will notice you will be able to run much smoother and better quality game play than your used to.

Yes definetly in games, not so much apps. The thing is with dual core technology mate, is that there's not many things being written that are actually designed to take advantage of it, so really you have two cores, with only one being put to good use. I'm sure things will start being written to use dual core CPU's properly soon, however in my new system, I'm going with a single core CPU because of this. Some single cores actually perform close to/about the same/or sometimes even better than some dual cores, or so I've heard...

Not for long I'm betting though, It's going to be a quick and inexpensive upgrade for me anyway.

I wouldn't say that PGH - i would definitely go with a dual core processor, they are a lot faster especially when multitasking.

Just look at Tom's hardware CPU Charts

Yes, definetly.

I agree upgrader, however I would say in some tasks, you probably wouldn't notice the difference between a dual core and single, or it would at least a minimal one. But if your a gamer who needs every ounce of processing power, or an avid multitasker, then it's probably essential.

I'm neither, so that's why I chose a single core. However, if it doesn't tip me much over budget, I may go with a dual core just to save upgrading in the future.
