Default i need a new laptop - help appreciated

Since purchasing my big fancy XPS 410 and selling my Dell Insprion 9300 17" wide scree notebook, I need a new notebook. I'd prefer a 14" but that is causing some problems

I play games and Dell's E1405 only comes with an integrated graphics card and that won't cut it for me. I need at least a 128 MB graphics card to go with my notebook so that I can play games and fully enjoy Vista Home Premium. HP has one.

I'd love Dells XPS 12" but it is outside of a college student's budget who only needs the laptop to travel with and take notes in class mostly.

I have had very pleasant experiences with all my years with Dell and am afraid to stray off to HP although I have heard they've gotten much better. (my Compaq from 5 years ago is still going strong!).

Any other ideas for possible 14" notebooks? I'm looking for a Core 2 Duo processor, 1-2 GB of RAM, dedicated graphics card, and an upgraded battery. I'll probably get a 3 year warranty and possible accidental damage as it will be traveling quite often.

I don't need anything real fancy as I have all that on my desktop right now.

I'm looking to spend under $1500 (and the cheaper the better!)

I also get 10% - 12% off on Dell's in addition to any other discounts/promos they have going on and about $100 off HPs.

Thanks in advance!

Dell, HP, Toshiba

All good laptops...each have their own "performance" style laptops also.

Dell do sell their own stuff on Find a Notebook, Desktop, Server, Printer, Software, Service, Monitor or TV at Dell. and every week they have discounts on different products. I'd keep your eye on there for a while and bounce at an oppurtinuty.

Or if you can afford it look at Alienware gaming laptops.

Well I'm not really looking for gaming -- that's what I have my desktop for. I need someone small that I can carry around and take to class, but that will also run Vista Home Premium.

Well they do other cheaper laptops too, but look at both Dell and Alienware.

my dad "coincidentally" got a 20% coupon for Dell that works on the XPS systems in the mail today. i think it's a sign to go with the M1210
