Exclamation Urgent Advice Needed

Hi guys! Haven't been on here for a while, my P.C was in the hospital. (yet again) Anyway, I need some advice regarding Custom PC's. Well here's the deal....

My current computer is old and tired, I am in desperate need of a new one and have been looking down the road of buying a custom built system. My parents say I should be able to get a new one considering this one will probaby blow up soon, so I have been scouring the net trying to find good deals ever since. I came across a decent looking system with a very reasonable price tag too I thought. I don't require the latest and greatest speed machine by any means (I haven't got the money for one thing), as I never really intend to play many high end games, and my needs are fairly basic, however I do need a "future-proof" one. One that will stand the test of time and handle multiple applications with ease, and obviously be ready to install VISTA. The link below is of the system I have been looking at. Any comments, suggestions, or anything else is welcome.

I'd go for 2 gigs ram considering Vista from what I read in a review eats up easilly 512mb ram and I wouldn't like to be stranded with just 512 left. But well if you aren't going to run anything too demanding you might be ok with 1giga too

Do you think upgrading the PSU would be a good idea? I'm not sure what the standard PSU is, but the two upgrade options are a 500W PSU and a 500W Twin Fan PSU. I don't know too much about Graphics Cards, but I'm guessing the onboard one would be suitable for the moment.

I would base the whole computer around an intel core 2 duo any one of them beats AMD's atm. Have a look on tomshardware.co.uk cpu charts for comparisons.

The problem is they don't tell you the make of the PSU's but i would have thought the uprated was better.

This is another one, based on the Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. It's just over £300 more expensive than the AMD unit. Here are the specs....

Pentium 4 PCI-Express Motherboard, Black Case , Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 processor (2 x 2.40G), 2GB DDR2 Memory, 320GB SATA 7200rpm Hard Drive, 256MB GeForce 7600GT , DVDRW (Dual Layer), Standard PSU

I beleive the motherboard is a ASRock CONROE945G-DVI

The AMD unit seems a good machine, and it's much within my budget. The Intel is stretching the budget quite alot and I'm not sure how much my parents would be willing to spend. Do you think the Intel one would be much wiser?.

the intel one would be wiser as you owuld get better performance from it. Look at benchmarks here and you will see the difference.
