Lightbulb Best Video-editing homemade PC

Well... actually... I didn't build it yet... BUT I am doing all my reserach! and I need someone's help on a few questions

Anywho... I'm an aspiring filmmaker, and I want to build the ultimate video-editing computer... now, you could say, just go get a mac! but being the geek I am i want to build it from scratch so it does exactly what i want. This computer will NOT be used for internet purposes, it is going to be strictly a video editing computer.

Now, my first question is, can i run Mac OSX on a home built computer? I'll use windows for this ONLY IF I HAVE TO! (i hate windows ) I would think you could just do the same as if it were windows on a homemade machine... but hey... i dunno, and i c ant get a straight answer online... So if this is possible, that would be the first step toward my goal!

If it would just be easier to get a mac... then please tell me!

best regards

Hi ihmc and a warm welcome to PCHF, unfortunately, to my knowledge, you cannot assemble a computer and run it like it's mac...... When you want to build a custom made pc, I can recommend, for starters, an mpegcard, which will encode/decode video streams, relieving your cpu from that task.
But, when you really hate windows, you can try linux :-) Though that';ll take some time to learn.
And yes, it'll be easier to buy a mac, especially since macs are the best devices for tasks like video- and graphic editing.......

You can run mac osx on pc hard ware due to macs x86 version but its againsts the license of apple! I would not recommend it because its illegal!
