I finally got around to popping my custom PC cherry and built one earlier this year:

AMD 64 X2 4400+
ASUS A8N SLi Deluxe
ASUS nVidia 7800 GTX extreme
2GB Corsair RAM
200GB Hard drive
Soundblaster X-fi platinum

It took me almost a month to get it working because I had a bad processor. It was the last thing I tested after I had gone through 2 motherboards, graphics cards, sets of RAM, hard drives and even DVD-rom drives. Thank god for Fry's 30 day return policy :grin:

Oh, I'm quite happy with it once I got it working!

Eventually I hope to get a nice big HDTV to run it through, a Cable Tuner Card and turn it into my home theater rig as well as a kickass gaming PC.

Maybe even get an additional 7800 GTX extreme.....

Just one small piece of advice...

The chipset fan you have got on that board will last anywhere between 2 months-9 months.

Be prepared to contact asus for a replacement as soon as you start hearing ANY noise.

I replaced mine with a passive heatsink...just keep an eye on it every now and then Otherwise it's an outstanding board..
