Default Extra hardware components

My hardware knowledge is very limited. I had an extra PC that was left running in a hot house (went on vacation and turned off the air conditioning). The PC obviously overheated and would not boot at all.

I decided to just take it apart and use what I could use out of it on my other PC. But the only thing I really know to use is the RAM. I more than doubled the ram on my current computer and can definitely tell a difference. Is there anything else in that computer that might be good? That is, can I add anything else from that computer to my current computer to make it perform better?

The old PC that overheated was running Windows 98, and I'm running XP on this one.

Yup , that would be an importend factor in deciding that.

But depending on the specs , video card , sound card , cd/dvd roms , psu , network card ect.
