Default [Answered] PC Hunting

Ive been doing alittle pc shopping and I just cant find what I need. Right now Im using a Windows 98 micrsoft right now. Im looking at a catalog and Im wondering what an average pc would be in this time of day.

Im seeing processors from Wintergreen AMD Sempron 2400+ system $249.

a710 3100+ AMD Athlon XP HP Invent. $399.

basically im wondering whats an average pc now and what would be a good deal. Id like above average I guess. I dont want to spend much more than $500 but I would spend more depending on the deal and specs. I like pc games as well. Id like to know what RPM is lol im a real noob when it comes to these sort of details.

So Im wondering what to choose from. I dont know how to tell the diffrence.

Athlon Sempron Celeron Pentium (4) Xeon.

What MHZ and GHZ would be good for me?

Just looking for the processor :|

rpm means rotations per minute. The mroe rotations the faster the hard drive, 7,200 is the standerd now. As far as game playing what kind of gaems do you want to play? And can you build your own system? You wont find a gaming rig for 500!

I think this is the cheapest possible way to make a PC that can play all the games out.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820141504 (u will need more ram than it comes with)
http://shop3.outpost.com/product/419...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG (just format the HD and put Windows on it)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814164043 (Pretty Amazing card for the price)

Seriously im not kidding, thats pretty freaking amazing for the price. I would recomend this to my family members.

A little upgrade would be http://shop3.outpost.com/product/447...H:MAIN_RSLT_PG

The first one is insanely cheap because of the card, but the second one has better processor, comes with windows xp and Compaq has very good customer support. video card would run most games on low i think.

In conslusion, im sure u will be happy with either of these for the price, there great deals.
