Abit tech hu lolo. They gave you the wrong instructions. Dont want to up the V-core, should have stepped up the fsb. V-core is overvolting and could cause heatups esp. on a prescott. But the 3.06 northwood was one of the best overclocking cpu's once they gave it the prescot core it went down due to HEat

not to worry she is perfectly cool, 45 at max load. Also 3.06 was my bad, that was the reading of the cpu before the ram was placed in the correct slots, now it is running at it's correct speed.

Is this a good deal?

I can buy in a local store a PC with following specs:

AMD athlon 64 3500+ (with cool & quiet)
GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9 mainboard
Gigabyte GeForce 6645 with Silent-Pipe, 128 MB
2 x 512 DDR400
300 Gb sata SATA disk (7200 rps / 8mb cache)
Toshiba DVD reader
Toshiba DVD DL writer

this for 999 Eur. - 1250 US $ - 680 GB ?

I want my PC quiet as possible, and according to the offer this should be the case.
.

I currently own :
P4 2,4Mhz.
1024 Mb RIMM 800Mhz
160 Gb internal disk
RAID controller + Firewire 400 with 80 Gb internal disk (For my pagefile to boost performance)
Plextor DVD writer
NEC DVD reader
MSI Nvidia FX-5600-VTRD 128 Mb Ram
USRobotics Gigabit NIC

I'm using teh PC mainly for running several virtual machines at the same time and one in a while for gaming. Is this worth the upgrade?

I also need to have much more RAM which type should I buy?

Thanks for any response.

I'd buy it for that price (and then upgrade the GFX card) - looks good.

That I dont know,

It's 2x 512 DDR 400 Mhz. but I have no idea what the timings are or what brand the mem is.
Since I want to upgrade the ram with 2x 1gb extra I'm gonna chack that out when I recieve my new toy tomorrow.
I will aslo recieve following for "free" with the PC: A wireless keyboard + mouse, 54Mbit Wlan stick, Bluetooth Stick, headset, TV tuner & webcam.
