Talking [Answered] PC Security stuff..

I would really like to get into the PC Security field and was woundering if anyone knows of any good PC Security tutorials or articles that could help me to get a jump start on that. I am already knowledged in the Technical Support field but I want to expand my knowledge to Security as well.

Thanks,
Adam

ill let the security team answer that one

I've been thinking about it for years...but there's way too much for me to learn still in the tech side of things

Well i work in IT...and every day i keep getting reminded that i don't know everything at work...the stuff that happens is insane...

That beind said - most of the time it's just easy small stuff that i know exactly how to proceed

There are many aspects of information security, to say the least. There's cryptography, infrastructure security, cryptography, operational security, etc. These are more network-based, and there are loads of information on these both in print and on the web.

But if you want to learn malware removal specifically - since that's what we do here - it's slightly easier. I suggest you hang out around at security forums, especially Wilders and DslReports:
Wilders Security Forums - Powered by vBulletin
broadband help » Forums » Up and Running » Security

If you want to join the security team here at PCHF, then you will have to graduate from
one of the many training academies around on the web, or show that you know your stuff (HijackThis log parsing and general malware removal)
A very good 'training school' is:
MalWare Removal :: View topic - Malware Removal University - Now Open

An excellent school-- some of the tops in that field worldwide and many of the Microsoft MVP's either run the school or contribute.
Be prepared to immerse yourself totally for a while. Since you are younger -- it will be easier for you I'm sure.Younger people learn faster naturally-- and you have a good start..
