i have used lots and lots of antiviruses (e.g. mcafee,norton,AVG,bitdefender,KAV,zonealaram,nod32 ) and so far in terms of antivirus i liked kaspersky and bitdefender the best but they did hog lots of resources so now i am using nod32 and my primary AV and zonealaram security suite as my firewall and its AV as my secondary AV. they both uptade automatically very fats and easy every few hours. however now i am thinking of going back to bitdefender since the v9 came out with AV,firewall, antispyware
so far though, in terms of resources nod32 uses the least and zonealaram uses an ok amount since its a security suite with all you cant expect it so use so little.

I will agree with you on Kapersky Lab's,... They are pricey and a resource hog but if you have those 2 things they are the top hands down.. You dont win 10 awards for nothing..
