AVG all the way here. My home PC is on 24/7 - I schedule my updates at about 4am and scan at 5am. Luckily I haven't experienced the same problems as you Si.

When you look at the relative quality of AVG FREE, ?35 for Norton really doesn't seem worth it to me.

Agreed but at the time I needed an AV product that worked. I might go back to AVG once the 12 months are up.

I was walking past a computer shop near my house and guess what I saw? Norton AV 2005 at 80 bucks. And the best part, you can install over 3 computers....... That works out to 26 bucks a person..... Thats Singapore dollars, so in Pounds it would be 9 pounds. :-)
