Default Temp Sensor Locations

Greetings from Florida! I have the SpeedFan 4.39 installed on my computer. Been having some issues with overheating only when playing a high graphics demand game. I have five temps monitored by SpeedFan, HD0 and HD1 average less than 40C, temp 2 and 3 average around 40C also. Temp 1 is a different story, it will be around 53C until I load my game and then it goes up to 63C or a little higher (and sporatic computer freeze up ). My question is how do I locate Sensors 1,2, and 3 and what exactly does each monitor? Is there safe software I can download to tell me? All three say Chip VIA82C686, BUS ISA, Address $C00. My video card is a Matrox PowerDesk-SE (PCI). Thank you for looking at this, Lee

Hello Lee 63c is a little high. You can download coretemp 32. If you have sensors 1,2,3 working they should show up on either program..Other than that exactly what software are you referring to?

I like using HWMonitor as well as Core Temp, this will show the temp of the individual cpu, graphic cards, hardrives, etc.

CPUID

Core Temp is great little app for reading the core temps of the cpu. As it's a lot more accurate than Speed Fan, which is a poss with all those little flames, that tell you nothing.

Here's the Core Temp link as well...

Core Temp

I play NovaLogic's Delta Force Black Down (FPS) and make game maps for our servers using a wireframe editor. My video card barely meets the requirements for the flicker test on install of the game and I was trying to figure out where the 63C temp reading was from . My computer has only froze up playing the game. I have dual monitors set up where I can monitor Ventrilo and SpeedFan while playing, and will freeze with or without the second monitored enabled. I downloaded both the HWMonitor and CoreTemp32 nice programs. I have attached the files that show the readings and was wondering if it tells where the temps are from. Many thanks, Lee

That core temp reading is odd,but the HW temps look fine.....

Think I have resolved my problem by upgrading my power supply and video card. I installed a nvidia geforce 8400gs video card ( still has dual monitor out) and a 450 watt power supply and now I have much better graphics and my temps are tolerable. Thanks, Lee
