Default disable PSU fan faiure beeping?

Can anyone help me?

I have an Nforce4-A939 motherboard manufactured by ECS with a Seventeam PSU.

My PSU's fan has failed. This is causing a very loud alarm to sound (continuous loud intermittent beeping). Not sure if it's coming directly from the PSU or the motherboard.

I'm using a normal fan that you find around the house placed next to the PSU. This is doing a fine job cooling the PSU. So it's possible to use the computer without risk of overheating.

I won't be able to get my hands on a new PSU for about 3 weeks.

I desperately need to use my computer immediately.

My question is: does anyone know if I disable this beeping? If so, how?

Hello trencor and welcome the PCHF..

First using your computer without a good cooling system, like your fan can and most probably will damage you computer. The beeping sound you are hearing is an alarm for just that.. I suggest that you shut down your computer and wait to get a new fan..........Sorry i know you need your computer.............

Actually, I don't mind much if it's damaged. This whole system gets shelved and becomes a backup in three weeks. I'll be getting a whole new system with the PSU that's coming in 3 weeks. So I don't mind so much if if the system suffers. I'd just like to use it for three more weeks without the beeping making me insane nor disturbing the neighbors.

If the psu finally dies, you will be without a computer for three weeks, putting a cheapish psu in to it will get you over this period.

You will still have a working computer available as backup system as well...
