Default PC Has Died

Hey guys, well my PC has finally died. I think its the PSU since I heard it go bang (a couple of sparks and smoke also), im just hoping its still under warranty, so I can get it repaired. Why did I go with Mesh and not trust my instincts to go with Dell in the first place? Anyone know if their Tech Support is open tomorrow? PSU is a 600w, not sure of the brand but im betting it was a cheap affair. Now do I send it off if its still under garantuee and wait two to three weeks for MESH to repair it or do I buy another PSU and replace myself as they operate an open case policy?

Hey MadGamer!

Personally? I wouldn't wait.. get the new good one and fight it out with the warranty stuff later..

Provided you can, of course.

The sooner you know if it took something with it, the better..

But that's just me.

Looking forward to seeing what happens with this.

Well I registered the PC under warranty on 21/6/08, so im in good time, but what a day for it to happen, when the tech support staff arent there.

PC is all packaged up ready to be sent off to MESH tomorrow. I had to pay £35.00 to ship via UPS Standard. Anyone think they're taking the mick, as its still under garantuee? I personally think they should pay for it instead of me, but hey ho

Just to give an update: I phoned the Reapir Centre yesterday, and they said that they have to test every single componant to verify that its working, and that they will get back to me with their findings

In future, I would strongly suggest that you hand pick the components yourself and DIY it all It's the best way to really get to know about the "inner workings" and at least when you have a problem like this, you don't have to rely on poor quality 3rd party "support".

Well I did consider building my own, but if I was ever in a position like I am now, where by I dont know if the PSU took anything else with it, it could have ended up costing me a fortune to replace componants myself.
