Hi all,

A few weeks ago I was using my Toshiba L100 Satellite laptop on battery only and it just cut out completely.

The battery had about 60% charge left in it but the computer just wouldn't recognize it. Knowing that the battery was worn out anyway I decided to get a new one but the problem still exists.

When I go to the Power Options in Control Panel, the battery icon is crossed out however it says its charging and lists the details, model numbers etc of the battery.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

most likely to be the power adapter in ur laptop, maybe the ports that connect ur battery up are ruined

Hello,are you sure it is a battery problem?

This could be a charger problem.Can you borrow a charger from a friend?Or some good computer shops that do repairs would test your charger and battery for free to get to the root of this problem.

I think it may be something to do with the charging process as the computer does recognise the battery in Power Options, but displays N/A in the battery icon in the taskbar.

Five minutes after having turned it off, the battery icon was flashing fast so i'm not sure what that means.

The only way of powering it up is by the mains power pack.

Hi, I had not thought of that. The laptop powers up ok with the battery pack so presumed it was ok.

I think you need to take this in and have it tested,good shops do not charge just to check this out for you.Is it still under warrantee?

So it runs via power supply but battery appears dead?Check the battery is fitted correctly,are you sure you purchased the right battery?
