Default [Resolved] PC Issues

Hi, I'm having a bit of a dilemma with my PC. While the pc is on and I'm doing something all of a sudden the pc resets itself and starts to boot up, it gets the the windows screen then "turns itself off" but the pc is still running and all the lights are still on. I have to unplug the pc and plug it back in for the pc to boot.

I have tried the following:
Virus Scan and Removed bad files
Spyware scan and that came out clean
Opened up the PC and cleaned it/checked connections.
Done a windows scan disk.

I'm running HDD heath and it says the temperature is at 39C so I don't think it's over heating... I'm really confused. Can someone offer any help?

Depending on exactly what that screen looks like .... (Blue ? Black? No Kind of display at all? )Possibilies include:

a)Overheating issue-- CPU fan ? watch it for a while 5-10 min/listen for noise/slowing speed.

b) Failing Video-card

c) Failing Monitor

Can you get on it long enough to look at the Windows Event Viewer...?
Look under applictations... if you see red x or yellow triangle errors-- double click on them to see the details-- then copy/paste them here.

The cpu seems to be running fine, not sure about the Power Supply, could a failing power supply cause this?

I was getting no error messages, the pc just shut down at random so i turned of the auto restart/shutdown and i got an error message with these numbers 0x00000024, 0x001902fe, 0xf7c75984, 0xf7c75680, 0x804f5fcb

I really hope this isn't a motherboard issue, how can I find out if it is?

Windows Event Viewer didn't report any errors when it stops.

There are two scenarios to examine here.

1) Your computer shuts down normally, but without warning. You receive messages notifying you that windows is shutting down, and it then restarts normally.

2) Your computer turns off completely without warning. You do not receive any messages or notification that your windows session is being terminated.

I suspect what is happening is the second scenario. In that case, if unplugging your computer, waiting about 5-10 seconds, and plugging it back in will allow you to turn your computer on normally, then I can tell you from experience that more than likely, the issue you are encountering is a problem with your motherboard.

Check your motherboard's physical appearance for any abnormalities (bulging capacitors, etc.)
Check for any unusual smells coming from the motherboard.

You may also wish to check the website of your motherboard's manufacturer for firmware updates, however this more than likely will not fix your problem, and performing a firmware update if your system is unstable and/or loses power unexpectedly is NOT RECOMMENDED.

I hope this helped, even though it's obviously not the news you wanted to hear.

PLG...
Those error numbers...
is your PC producing any minidump files ???

the text on the screen will say .... Your PC has shut down to protect your files... etc-- beginning Memory dump---
if you can capture those dump files and post them here-- I will request that Madmonkey-- our resident "Blue screen of Death" or BSOD expert analyze the logs for you.
The first in that list indicates a file-system error... which may be just a repair-install fix-- It could still be hardware also-- but Mad can help you figure it out.
Those files will help-- he is quite experienced with these errors.

Another suggestion-- you have your hardware listed -- but we can't see the list without your permission:
my "canned" post below-- note the red text.
suggest-- when you repost-- go into "User CP" "edit options" --scroll down the list.
List all your hardware in the spaces be sure to list the Brands and Model Numbers
-- at the top-- there is an option to "allow others to view my specs"-- click on yes.
It saves a lot of time between posts if while you check something I can go look up your motherboard manufacturer's site and read the manual.

You can also list your OS...all this is a great time-saver for us-- we can view everything quickly to refresh our memories... as we are all working multiple threads at once.
This would be automatic from that point on-- so if you have another problem six months from now-- we can instantly know what you have.

Ok I'm just about to change my profile so you can see my hardware, just thought I'd update a little I got myself a new power supply and I'm waiting now to see if it switches off again. I forgot to mention that when the system shuts off all the lights stay on but I have to unplug it to get it to come back on then sometimes it wont boot at all but all the lights come on and the cpu fan is running it wont boot up either hard drive by the looks of it. My motherboard looks normal theres nothing fried or burned out looking.
