Exclamation Computer is not loading up but the lights are ON

When I press the power button on my cpu case, I see all the lights turning on (none of them blinking, just stable) but nothing is loading up.

What I see is black screen on the monitor, and the monitor (CRT) is blinking, as if it was turned on and the computer is on Stand by.

The wires are all plugged in....

I am running Windows XP Professional with 1GB Ram and 130GB HD on P43.0Ghz

Any help would be appreciated.

My friend is telling me that the motherboard is probably dead.... could this be the case?

Or maybe the hard drive is dead? My friend tells me, if thats the case, the logo of the manufacture (DELL, HP, COMPAQ, etc) would at least show up.....

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Are your fans all spinning?Could you open her up carefully and check CPU fan and the others please.

You say monitor is blinking?Do you see a little white dash blinking?

Have you tried restarting her and repeatedly tapping F8 and choose last known config or safe mode?Have you tried another monitor? Is this onboard graphics card or a PCI slot one?

Hi, I never opened him up but I could hear the fan... I think. The monitor is black, it just blinks like usual when the computer is on stand by (but in this case it's not on stand by)

So are you able to open her up and check?

Are you using onboard graphics or a PCI card?

Could you go to your user CP and fill out computer specs and chack box show others please?

That would be great?

It does sound like the motherboard is dead.

Any beeps when you switch it on?

If not the last chance is to get a VGA card from another PC and install it in yours & see......................

best of luck.........
