Smile [Resolved] No output

I installed a new graphic card today (8800 gtx) on a k8triton (ga k8n ultra 9). Now i have no output. The pc starts, the fans run, the lights in the case turn on and it makes the usual startup beeps but nothing on the screen AND the mouse/kb are unresponsive i.e. no lights on either.

I tried removing the card and adding the old one (8600) back in but no go. What did I do wrong?!

1. Turn your computer off.

2. Install your original graphic card in the computer.

3. Turn the computer back on.

Please describe what happens...

It's the same. No output.

I remember the first time i plugged it in it wouldn't start. One of the memory chips had fallen loose. I put it back in its slot and on trying again, that's when the problem started.

You said one of the chips. I assume you have more than one strip?

If so, if you can remember which strip it was, suggest you remove that strip and restart the computer.

Again, turn off your PC before opening the chassis.

Hi,

While removing the memory chip didn't work, I did buy a new mobo today (abit IP35). The installation seems to have gone fine and the output is ok. There's a new problem though. I can use the keyboard to navigate across the BIOS menu and the lights on my Razer light up when it starts, but after Windows loads the two become completely unresponsive. I don't know if it's because I have to install the new drivers or what, but I kinda need my mouse and keyboard to enter the password and log in :P

Safe mode doesn't seem to bypass the login screen either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi jimmy is this USB keyboard n mouse?

If it is use a serial mouse and keyboard for now.You need to enable USB support in BIOS.Then load drivers for the USB devices once windows is installed.

Hi,

Yes they are USB devices and USB support in BIOS is turned on. I was hoping I could avoid reinstalling windows and just make do with the mobo drivers ;(. I was thinking of installing the drivers from a flash drive but if no USB works that's out of the question.

The IP35 has ONE IDE connector and my hard drives and cd-drive are all IDE. Looks like I'm going to have to get a SATA drive too.
