Im signing off now but there wil be other help
I agree. Although you can reduce the temperature, it could very well be it's not a temperature problem

Well, you could, if comfortable, go into the BIOS and find an option to change the CPU Voltage and change it to 1.25v. It should heavily reduce your temperatures

It might heavily destabilise the cpu. The 65 nm cedermills operate at 1.3 default the prescotts need more juice 1.4 I feel is correct

It could be your Power Supply Unit failing

No, the G1 stepping is actually 1.25v to 1.4v

It could. It certainly won't harm anything though.

Well, if you looked in all the menus, then you may not be able to edit it, which is a shame. "Halt on" is if there's a hardware error/problem, then the computer will halt.

If you can, can you get a screenshot of the BIOS tab from everest? Maybe we could try updating the BIOS
