System Fan at 0° then one day stopped booting up. Need new power supply or a fan?
I'm running Windows XP on an HP Pavilion 735n. I've had problems (esp. in the summers) with the system fan being at 0 speed. I read that in the BIOS. Then a few days ago, it stopped powering up. It started to turn on but then gave serious error message and turned off. It almost let me hit F1 (setup), but then tricked me and shut off.
Since I've known that my system fan has not been functioning, I'm assuming that's what needs to be replaced. The question is: which one is the system fan? I'm having trouble figuring out if 1) the fan fault is power-related, and 2) if it's power-related, then wouldn't it be the CPU fan that would need replacement instead of the system fan?
Hmmm.
I'd very much appreciate any suggestions...
