PC case raidmax (4 fans)
500w power supply
gigabyte ga-ma790fx-ds5
amd quad core 9500
ati radeon hd 3870
4gigs of ram on 1066 ballistix
i have 1 dvd drive
1 hd
1 floppy drive
and 4 usb devises (keyboard, mouse, cam, linksys wireless adapter)
i flushed the bios to the latest F5 from the gigabyte webpage
And know the problem is I can't get it work....stable.......i did download and install all the latest drivers
My main suspicion is the power supply is not enough but I'll be happy to get a second opinion
The OS is Vista Home Premium and it is a clean install
Pls. help out on this one
Also what exactly do you mean by unstable - a little more info would be great. How old is the power supply? Have you configured your ram correctly in the BIOS.
According to the extreme Power Supply Unit calculator you need a min of 323w so 500w should be more than plenty. Could you be more specific with your issue?
Tanks for your answer
The Power Supply Unit came with the case which is raidmax and Power Supply Unit is same brand
The pc is giving me blue screens all the time and when going to reboot just keep trying and can't get to the point to load the OS
My ram is ballistix working on 1066mgz and after i flushed the bios to the latest F5 i did not configure anything additional just load the optimized defaults
Any tips of fixing this problems are greatly appreciated
What error does the bluescreen give. OCZ ram needs to be configured manually as most BIOS don't correctly detect and set it up properly. What is the exact brand OCZ you have and also need MB brand too.
Hello, are you getting any beep codes besides the single post beep on startup.
Double check your connections on motherboard.
Try testing each RAM stick individualy.
Are all the fans spinning?
You are using a USB keyboard and mouse? Then could you plug in a normal keyboard/mouse to enter BIOS.As you have to enable the USB support in BIOS for your keyboard and mouse USB ones.
Like 30h ago i disconnect my floppy drive, my dvd drive and remove 2gigs of the ram and the pc so far give me the blue screen just ones.....
How i get to configure the ram in the bios in case it doesn't make the correct set up itself
The easiest way to check the ram settings and fix them is to install easy tune 5 pro which comes on the disk with your motherboard.
In the advanced mode - you will see memory just make you set the memory to the following: (make sure all ram has been put back in)
CL - CAS Latency 5
tRCD - RAS to CAS Delay 5
tRP - RAS Precharge 5
tRAS - Active to Precharge Delay 15
I'm not sure if you can change the command rate from Easy tune but if the system is still unstable you may to change to command rate from 1T to 2T - your bios defaults to 1T.
You may have to make this change in the BIOS menu under Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker > DRAM configuration.
