Hello dreadnort,

If you suspect overheating, use speedfan to check your current temperatures: SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

Also, can you fill in your PC specs, by clicking on Quick Links followed by Edit Options. This will help me to determine what your temperatures should actually be, as they vary significantly between make and model.

Have you experienced any other symptoms, error messages, blue screens of death?

Hey dread, does your PC have a make and model? Most Geforce cards these days support higher temperatures than 55c.

There is only four things that match both symptoms (PC switching off and the continuous beep). That is either the power supply or the motherboard. Has there been any hardware changes recently? I don't think your problems are overheating. Other possible causes include faulty keyboard < this wouldn't stop your PC switching on, and bad memory.

Hello are you sure it is a beep or more like along squeal noise?

Not sure on your board but in BIOS have you set temprature errors or some thing like this enabled in BIOS.As in warning if there is a failure in your system like CPU/GPU/Power Supply Unit?Or warning of over heating or if case is left open it will or could give a high pitch type squeal noise?Or even a beep code error?

Whay size wattage power supply unit are you using?
Have you tried diffrent RAM?
Is there onboard GPU you could use and remove the one you are using now?Or do you have a spare GPU you could try or spare power suppy?

you clearly state long beep. Memory would go beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep graphic error would go beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep beep beep beep or beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep depending on whether its award or ami bios. Seeing as AMi does not appear to have a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep and you did say a long beep didnt you? the only corresponding bios error is award and memory

Just checked the manual and its an Award bios so if it is a long beep as you said then its memory error like what I highlighted
