1 long 2 short is still a memory error? have you looked at the guts? does the heat sink on the cpu and gfx look caked up in muck? if so give that a clean out first (with the machine off)

might be worth removing the memory and give the machine a good blow lol take it outside or if it is dusty it will make you cough lol

hey gave it a good blowing over, well some1 else did it at a "free pc health check" which they tried charging for :\ lol, anyway he sed the ram was dusty so he cleaned it got it back worked fine till i installed WoW problem just keeps reaccuring.
edit: id say it was still overheating but id go with ur word over mine :P

the guys at the shop ran a memory test when they got passed my password lol, it failed the first time they dusted it and then it passed.

Have you looked in event viewer for any thing logged there?

As you are running Vista you can do a health scan on your computer it only takes 1-2 mins to run.This will give you a report on how or why your system is failing.

In control panel locate system and maintinence.
Then choose performance Information Tools.
Under advanced tab choose generate a system health report.

memtest needs to run for ages as it needs to address all areas of the ram a few passes of memtest at least
