Default Emachine power supply

My power supply went on my emachine t2085. I ordered another Bestec power supply from Ebay. I cross referenced my model # with theirs, but they sent me the wrong model. Any how I installed the one they sent me. Everything started up in the computer but nothing came up on the monitor. The monitor came up black & was only flashing a green light beside the power button. When I unplugged the monitor cable from the case, the logo would come up on the monitor then when I plug it in the screen would go black & the green led light would flash. Tried this with a few monitors but it did the same thing. The seller suggested to jump the bios pins to clear the bios. Tried jumping the jumper pins but still does the same thing. Any suggestions what this problem would be? Any help on this would be much apprieciated.

Hi there,

Changing a Power Supply Unit is a fairly major undertaking and I'm sure you've done it well. The only thing I would suggest is that you double check EVERY connection - RAM, Expansion cards, connectors..everything inside the case.

Bestec power supplies are not very good at the best of times. In the IT world they are known exploders . Get rid and buy a descent one

E-machines in general are poor computers, that's why they're so cheap...I'd never recommend them but since you've got one, what kind of Power Supply Unit did you end up receiving? Is it another Bestec?
