Default Electricity

I think this problem goes under the Power Supply Unit section but im not too sure. Anyway what happens is whenever i put on a light switch or something on my room's floor of the house, through the speakers i hear a short "snap". Another thing, dont know if it's related but whenever i press one of the lock keys (caps, num, scroll) i get a horizontal white line across the screen, which varies in position each time, and is only present for a matter of mileseconds. Just intereted in what is going on. Thanks

Hi Derek, this maybe be a faulty electrical component or lead.

Check ALL leads and cables to make sure there is no slight break in plastic casing.

Check fuses and wirering in plugs etc,so we maybe able to rule out a few things.

Make sure if you are able to check inside your computer that all PCI cards are seated correctly and tightly.Make sure all cables inside are pushed fully in.

Your welcome Derek,it does sound like a cable or PCI card some thing not quite right,as if a power cable or a lead is faulty and when it feels a vibration it creates the noise.

Or a faulty sound card if you are using onboard?

Not to do with plugs or cables outside of the pc as ive tried differnt ones. I've been having trouble with my graphics card, which makes a hissing noises. My speakers are logitech's, 2.1 they are. Thanks
