Default Not sure if its the power

Last night i decided to give my computer a break and turn it off, when i turned it on in the morning it booted up to windows and then just shut down( and i mean powered down at that). A few seconds later the power comes back and it starts to boot up again only to do the power down thing again. I'm thinking of buying a new power supply but would like to be sure first.

Hi goldpup - it might be an issue with some drivers that are installed.
Have you been able to get into safe mode at all?

Don't think its drivers as its been on for months, i tried turning it on again and it ran for about an hour and a half then did the whole power down thing and when i say power down thing i mean like there was a power failure. Before this happened i ran my ever something home thingy and checked the sensor temps. There was one temp that didn't look right to me but i could be wrong, it said AUX 54'C or 100 something F( sorry not good with the whole celsius/farenheit thing). I'm assuming thats my power supply temp, if so does that seem like a good temp or is it over heating?

Forgot to mention that after it did this the first time that it would even do it in the bios and sometimes b4 windows could even load and that why i don't think its a driver problem. But i could be wrong

hey goldpup,

you say it powers up then shut downs? i would check to make sure your heat sink is seated properly on the processor. i've seen that baby pop off a few times.

Heatsink is on from what i can tell and i got a temp reading on it that was 29'C which seems to be a good temp, but i'll check to make sure

When i said it shuts down i mean it just loses power, no closing process what so ever
