Smile [Resolved] Pc doesn’t start up

Hi guys,

I got e strange problem with a dell pc.
It doesn't start up, there is just e small orange light that flickers slow at the power button.
Does anyone knows the problem? I am not sure that it is a power problem ...

thanks!

Hi cman, could you tell me was there any changes or problems with the Dell pc before it would not bootup?
If your any good with the insides of the pc,switch it on and open up case and could you check the fans are spinning.Listen to your HDD or gently feel it to see if its getting power.
Do you even get the post screen?
Check all leads, plugs etc are connected and pushed in properly.
While pc is powered off check internal connections that every thing is connected and pushed home properly.

When i plug the power kable in the light starts to flach verry slow.
If i push the power button happens nothing.
I already chanced the hard disk because I needed the data on it. I putted the hard disk of the new pc in it but this didn’t chance anything.
I don’t get anything on the screen … nothing starts to run … only when the power is plugged in the little light starts to flicker.

Thanks!

Hi,so your fans are not spinning? This could indicate a power supply failure.
Are you able to test HDD as a slave in another machine?See if it can be opened that way or if it is registered in BIOS?

No the fans are not spinning. The original hard disk is running on the new pc (the same pc) everything is working fine.
I had to install all the drivers again.
I was also thinking on a power failure but how comes the led starts to flicker?

Yes you maybe looking at power failure.
If pc is still under garantee then ring there help line and have them to check it.
As the hard drive works fine.
