Default Computer won't come on

I have a gateway pent. 4. One day my computer was working fine, then all of a sudden it will not power up again. I opened up the computer case, clean the dust. Unplugg and replug the wires. Yesterday it stayed on for probably 2o minutes and then shut off. Today, it won't even come up. The power button is yellow, but the power light from the fan is green. Any ideas on what the cause may be? Any help would be wonderful. Thank you in advance.

Thank you for the welcome! Is it difficult to replace the power unit and inexpensive? Or is it better to just go and purchase a computer.

PSU is not usually hard-- but buy a good maker.
You've been inside the case...?
Look up at the top-- in the rear-- the box where all the cables originate.
On a "Standard" PC-- there's usually 4 screws holding it... Gateway? not sure.
If you do decide to go for it--you are lucky-- you're in the US
Newegg.com is great. They have user ratings for everything. Read reviews.
Be sure to check the dimensions of the PSU --easiest way is to remove the old one and measure Ht+Wd+Depth. on the box itself. Then when you choose one-- go to the makers website for dimensions on it. MOST will fit-- but there can be variations.
Questions ? C'mon back.
