I smelled something burning at work yesterday morning, a few minutes later a computer shuts off and will not turn back on, no power whatsoever. I install a new power supply which Ive done several times, turn it on, but I get a black screen and the monitor light continues to blink green every few seconds.
I decide to check the
RAM since its the easiest thing to test next, so I remove a stick from a good, working computer, put it in, no change. After a couple hours of fooling with it, its time to go to class, so I put the known good stick of
RAM back into the working computer, turn it on and leave. I get a call 30 minutes later saying that the previously working computer I borrowed
RAM from is now turning on, but again, no video! I came in this morning and removed all the
RAM from the working computer, turn it on and get three beeps, which is good, but still no video when everything is assembled.
Any idea?! Thanks in advance.
