Default Another PC that wont start

Hey guys,

I see someone else posted about a PC that wont start, but here is my problem. My mom was using the computer, worked fine Saturday night and then Sunday - nothing. It won turn on. The light doesnt turn on, it doesnt start up at all. I opened the case up and made sure the memory was still plugged in (pulled it out and put it back in) and still no dice. The CPU fan twitches when i hit the power button. It starts to spin, but stops about 1/10th of a second after it starts. It makes like 1/32nd of a rotation. It seems to me like maybe the computer is trying to boot but a sensor of some sort is stopping it. It doesn't do any beeps, and nothing happens on the monitor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hmmm..could be your PSU - I don't suppose you have another nearby that you can swap it out with to test?

Ok, in that case, apart from checking all connections are tight to the board, there's not much else you can do really..maybe remove the BIOS battery and power cable for a couple of minutes, see if that helps.

I've solved my problem now.

I unplugged all the drives and then plugged them back in. The system now powers up as usual.
